Our new technology, named NOVAsort (Next-generation Opto-Volume-based Accurate droplet sorter), which was published in Nature Communications, allows high-throughput screening of molecules and cells at significantly reduced error rates and was featured in the TAMU Engineering newspaper.

Adios 2024 and adieu 2025! Our group, the Nanobio System Lab, held an in-person meeting to discuss improving research environments and to present outstanding research outcomes from our members. Due to the large size of our group, group meetings have typically been done over remote sessions, previously, however, we will now hold in-person meetings periodically with delicious brunches provided by Dr. Arum Han.

We’re thrilled to announce that we have received a $12.9 million grant from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) AMPHORA program. Our project, microSTASIS (A Microbial System To Ameliorate Survival in Extreme Settings), aims to develop an innovative method for preserving microbial samples without refrigeration or cooling requirements. This will be achieved by integrating cutting-edge advancements in microfluidics, biomaterials, protein engineering, and synthetic biology. Link to the news.
